School Visit Information

Paallam Arts is delighted to present a one-of-a-kind dance and martial arts festival in Wrexham on July 1st, between 10 AM and 5 PM at Llwyn Isaf/Library Field. We believe that dance and movement unite people beyond borders, and this festival will bring quality performances while creating a unique experience for the people in our community.

As part of the festival, we are offering martial arts workshops for primary and high school kids on the following days: June 30th, July 3rd, and 4th at Ty Pawb.

We have scheduled:

  • Year 1 & 2 for June 30th, between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM / 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, followed by snack time from 11:30 AM to 12 PM.
  • Year 3 & 4 for July 3rd, between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM / 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, followed by snack time from 11:30 AM to 12 PM.
  • Year 5 & 6 for July 5th, between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM / 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM, followed by snack time from 11:30 AM to 12 PM.

This will be a “GO AND SEE” kind of opportunity for kids to participate and engage in physical activity. We are reaching out to as many schools as possible in Wrexham County to be part of the workshop. Schools can choose one day or three days based on their interests.

We are requesting a donation of £2 per child to participate in the workshop, covering the extra costs. We will be glad to have your school participate in the workshop.

We have a day of well-curated programs on July 1st, between 10 AM and 5 PM, including classical dance, live music, martial arts demonstrations, an artisan market, food trucks, a kid’s fairground, and more. We would be delighted if you could join us to experience the festival.

Dhol Drillers

Energetic dhol players adorned in traditional shervanis and vibrant Bhangra outfits. Their captivating beats will ignite the atmosphere and elevate your event to new heights.

Odissi Dance

11:30am to 12:00pm

A seamless blend of Carnatic and Hindustani music, showcasing mesmerising talas and ragas. Experience a fusion of styles in captivating performances from Sandhya Sridhar that transport audiences to a world of musical enchantment.

Welsh Dance

12:30pm to 1:00pm

Meet Dawnswyr Caernarfon, a group of passionate Welsh folk dancers. With lively footwork and traditional costumes, they bring the rich cultural heritage of Wales to life, captivating audiences with their vibrant and captivating performances.

Indian Martial Arts

1:00pm to 1.30pm

Embark on a journey of Indian martial arts excellence. With a legacy rooted in Kalaripayattu, their skilled practitioners showcase the ancient art's grace, agility, and lethal combat techniques in captivating displays.

Performing Arts

1:30pm to 2.00pm

Delta Academy: a dynamic performing arts group that embodies creativity and passion. With a diverse repertoire and talented members, they captivate audiences with their exceptional performances, showcasing the power of the arts.

African Dance

2:00pm to 2:15pm

Experience the rhythm of Palops Dance Sacapulidoras. This vibrant group showcases the rich cultural heritage of African dance through energetic movements, captivating audiences with their soulful performances.

Belly Dance

2:15pm to 2:30pm

Yasmine Latkowski: A captivating belly dancer who mesmerises audiences with her graceful movements and expressive artistry. With a fusion of traditional and modern styles, she embodies the beauty and allure of belly dance.

Martial Arts

3:00pm to 3:30pm

Introducing a martial artist with a distinct approach: a fusion of Old School Jeet Kune Do, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and complementary martial arts. ScimitarJKD is dedicated to achieving comprehensive street combat skills, Carl displays a unique fighting style.

Brazilian Martial Arts

3:30pm to 4:00pm

Capoeira: The martial art of Brazil. With its rhythmic blend of acrobatics, dance, and self-defense, Capoeira embodies grace and strength, stunning audiences with its rich cultural heritage and vibrant energy.
